Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic team captain who has won gold medals in 2012. Six of her Olympic gold medals form part of the record-breaking number. Aly was also the winner of two World Championships teams. Aly is from Needham in Massachusetts. Her love to gymnastics can be traced to her 18-month old "mommy with me" class. Aly has been a strong supporter of body positive, and is both a leader as well as an activist at the table. Aly recently made a statement about Larry Nassar's sentencing. Aly Raisman, born in 1994 began gymnastics as when she was a child. She helped her U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. The following year, she won two gold medals, one in the team event and one in the individual floor workout--along with a bronze in the beam competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Raisman took silver both in the individual and floor finals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. In addition, she took home a gold award in the team gymnastics competition. Raisman disclosed in 2017 that she had been sexually assaulted by her former team physician Larry Nassar.
